Frequently Asked Questions

Full Colour 3D Scanning not only creates a three-dimensional model of the object but also records the true colours and textures of the object's surface.
Suitable for:
• Cultural Heritage Preservation
• Exhibition Purposes
• AR/VR
• Game Models
• Website Display
• Digital Archiving
• Animation Production

Compared to standard scanning, it can retain the appearance details of the object more completely.
General scanning mainly records the shape and size of objects, usually outputting only grey models. Full-colour scanning additionally records the colour, texture, and patterns of the object's surface, allowing for a complete restoration of the object's true appearance, making it more suitable for display, digital presentation, and visual purposes.
Common objects for full-colour 3D scanning include portrait sculptures, figurine models, cultural artefacts, collectibles, architectural models, exhibition items, and product display samples. If the object itself has a lot of patterns or colour details, the effect of full-colour scanning will be more pronounced, allowing for a more complete restoration of the object's true appearance.
Standard delivery formats include OBJ (with texture maps), PLY, and FBX, which can be directly used for animation production, AR/VR displays, or 3D printing. If there are other specific format requirements, please inquire when placing the order.
In general, it can be printed directly without the need for redrawing. If the object has scratches or holes, the scanner will record them as well, and you can choose to print directly or opt for post-processing repairs. If the purpose is CNC machining or mould making, redrawing will be required, and drawing services can be selected as needed.
Yes, but the scanning effect will be influenced by multiple factors, including the material of the original object, the degree of surface reflectivity, lighting conditions, colour depth, and texture complexity. The AIO Studio technical team will choose the most suitable scanning method and post-processing plan based on the actual conditions of the object to ensure the best restoration effect.

Yes, but such materials will increase the difficulty of scanning.

For example:
• Black glossy surface
• Metallic reflection
• Transparent plastic parts
• Glass
In some cases, scanning powder or additional photographic processing may be required to enhance the model and colour effects.
Basic services generally include:
• Model organisation
• Basic hole filling
• Texture synthesis
• Noise cleaning

If needed:
• High-precision retouching
• Texture repainting
• Animation-level model processing
• Game model optimisation
additional quotes will be provided as required.

The maximum scanning size is theoretically unlimited; even a container truck can be scanned. The minimum size is 1cm × 1cm × 1cm, but the detail of fine models will decrease, requiring additional manual drawing to supplement. For processing finer parts, jewellery-grade scanning services can be selected, capable of handling parts as small as 1mm × 1mm × 1mm.
The general delivery time depends on the scale of the project: small objects take about 5–7 working days, while complex or large projects take 7–14 working days. If there are a lot of texture corrections involved or if it is for AR/animation purposes, the time will increase accordingly. Please provide details when inquiring for an accurate estimate of the timeframe.
Please provide the following information:
• Object photos (multiple angles)
• Dimensions
• Quantity
• Final use (display/AR/animation/storage, etc.)
• Whether model optimisation is needed
• Whether post-retouching is needed
The more complete the information, the more accurately we can suggest suitable scanning solutions and quotes.
